TanTou - Our Team

Nullo Facchini (Italy/Denmark) - director, performer, teacher.

Nullo Facchini is the artistic director of TanTou.

Nullo has created his own unique style of participatory work which he calls human specific performance. He creates labyrinth-like experiences which are different for every single audience member. and therefore there is usually a maximum of 30-40 spectators – or rather participants – per performance.

He founded Teatret Cantabile 2 in 1983 and was head of the company until October 2022. He has won several awards over the years, starting with a Kjeld Abell Award from the Danish Academy for his work with alternative theatre dramaturgies, and most recently in 2018 when Cantabile 2's human specific performance "Hidden number" won the Danish Reumert prize for Best Performance of the Year. Also, in 2020 he was honored by the 27th edition of CIFET – Cairo International Festival of Experimental Theatre.

Nullo also founded the danish School of Stage Arts (1988-2006) which for almost two decades was one Denmark’s most important alternatives to the institutional, classic theatre education

In 2022, Nullo and Cantabile 2 stopped their collaboration with each other and he created TanTou, a more free, non-institutional company, which links Nullo Facchini to some of the artists that he loves working together with.

In 2023 He received the Wilhelm Hansen Award for his artistic career in Denmark.
